先日Sleipnirを導入して、ついでにMcafeeもインストールしたのですが、どういうわけかその後cygwinからxwindowを開くことが出来なくなりました。startx,startxwin.sh,等試しましたが、画面下のタスクバーにXwindowのアイコンはでるのですが、開けません。原因はMcafeeのFirewallか何かかと思うのですが、どうかご助言お願い致します。

Cygwin の Xwin.exe は tcp/6000 のポートをリッスンしていると思いますが、パーソナルファイアウォール等でブロックされて無いでしょうか？

# ブロックされてたら、ウィンドウ生成を含むいろんな要求がXサーバーに届きませんよね？

zxcvさんご返信ありがとうございます。McafeeのWirusscan、Firewall等を無効にして、cygwinからstartxとしてxwindowを起動させようとしたのですがやっぱり開いてくれません・・・。その時でたメッセージを下記に記します。

もうMcafeeをアンインストールしてCygwin再インストールしかないでしょうか・・・？

私も X の stderr は読めないクチなんですが、手元の WindowsXP Noteでは bash から startx とやると以下のメッセージが出て、ルートレスのウィンドウマネージャーと xterm が立ち上がります。

じゃりさんの場合は、キーボード設定で止ってるんでしょうかね？

私には、それ以上は分からないです。 m(_r_)m

ご返事遅れましたがzxcvさん、ありがとうございます。

cygwin再インストールしまして、再びstartxしてみた結果、同じところでフリーズしてしまいました・・・。
startxwin.batでは、画面下のタスクバーにcygwin/X server - 0:0 のアイコンは出るのですが、結局Xwindowは開いてくれません。startxwin.batの内容は、インストール後、まったくいじっておりません。どなたか助けて下さい！！

Mcafee Private Serviceのみをアンインストールしたところ、異常なくXwindowを開くことが出来ました！！どうやら原因はfirewallではなかったみたいです。理由はイマイチなんですがとにかく嬉しいので報告させてもらいます！

私も同じ症状でXが落ちるので困ってましたが，たまたま xinit と打ってみたら，なんと動いています。何か欠けているのかも知れませんが，とりあえずご報告。
